Sylvie Lang* (she/her) is a lawyer with over 15 years’ experience in labour and employment law. She conducts fair, thorough, and impartial workplace investigations and assessments for organizations across the public and private sectors, including for both federally and provincially regulated employers. She is known as an effective problem solver who looks for opportunities for early resolution of disputes, including mediation.
Before co-founding Hawkins Lang & Price, Sylvie was an investigator at a workplace investigation firm.

Sylvie’s practice focuses on workplace investigations and assessments across a wide range of industries and organizational structures. She regularly investigates complex and sensitive matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and harassment, and other forms of workplace misconduct. She is also experienced in navigating the unique dynamics of unionized and non-unionized workplaces.

Throughout her career, Sylvie has led education and training sessions for employers, employees, and union representatives on key workplace topics, including human rights and conducting investigations.

Sylvie spent a decade as in-house counsel in the healthcare and federally regulated transportation sectors, where she appeared regularly in arbitration, mediation, and Labour Relations Board proceedings. In these roles, she advised leadership on labour and employment matters and contributed to the development of key workplace policies.
She began her legal career articling at a prominent national law firm after completing an integrated, bilingual program at McGill University, earning degrees in both civil and common law.
