Nicole Price* (she/her) is a lawyer whose practice spans workplace investigations, environment assessments, mediations, and training across public and private sectors. She is thoughtful and impartial, with extensive experience investigating harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, and general workplace misconduct. Nicole is known for reaching fair and balanced conclusions while navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Drawing on her legal and in-house experience, Nicole tailors processes to each organization and situation, helping clients resolve conflict and foster healthier workplaces. Her clients include Crown corporations, educational institutions, non-profits, unions, municipal governments, and private companies.

Nicole was previously a partner at a workplace investigation firm before co-founding Hawkins Lang & Price.

    Investigator & Trainer

    Since 2013, Nicole has focused her practice on workplace investigations and is known as a leading practitioner in this growing dynamic field. She incorporates trauma-informed approaches, unconscious bias training, and specific training on investigating sexual misconduct into her work, and she also provides anti-harassment and investigation training across sectors.

    Federally Regulated Employers Investigator (National Registry)

    Nicole became a member of the Government of Canada’s Work Place Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations Registry of Investigators in 2021. She has conducted numerous investigations for federally regulated organizations under the Canada Labour Code, including maritime, trucking, rail, Crown, and First Nations. Nicole is well versed in both procedural and practical aspects of these investigations and values the opportunity to make recommendations to foster positive workplace outcomes.

    Mediator

    Nicole has extensive experience resolving workplace conflict, drawing on 20 years of workplace law practice. Nicole firmly believes that many disputes are better suited to a mediated resolution. She looks for opportunities to mediate (with parties’ consent) in matters that might otherwise be investigated, successfully resetting working relationships.

  • After articling with a national law firm, Nicole joined its Labour and Employment group as an associate. Her desire for first-hand exposure to business operations prompted her move to in-house Employee Relations, gaining over a decade of in-depth workplace experience in both the private and public sectors. During that time, she worked collaboratively with stakeholder groups, unions, and leadership to negotiate and resolve complex workplace issues, including through collective bargaining.
